It’s Jesseca here! I have a quick update for you guys.

The day has been full of rehearsing. We went right to the studio. Our choreographer, Shawn Cuffie, spent the first part of the day teaching us dance routines for the opening number. When we took a break for lunch, we all started singing to famous songs like Shallow and Don’t Stop Believing.

We then worked out some blips and timing issues. Afterwards, we reviewed our walking patterns for the swim suit and evening gown portions. Then we ran through the entire “show”.

We went to our rooms to pack up early. We were also given Miss Teenage Canada “goodie bags” that were filled with tons of amazing presents. We also got our mesh tracksuits to wear over our swimsuits during the swimwear dance number. I had a fun time by acting like a rapper. My rapper name was “Little J”.

It is the last night with my roommates and I couldn’t ask for any better. All of the girls are so amazingly sweet and I will miss them.

I need to get some rest, so… Good Night!

Yes, it’s me, Jesseca. And you guessed it…a new blog post!

Day 4 was filled with lots of rehearsing. We learnt our dance number for the bikini portion of the show on the 14th. Fitting 38 girls onto one small stage was hard today, but it will look amazing on the actual stage later on. All the dancing also made us hungry; therefore, we had amazing sandwiches from The Local Café and Restaurant. My turkey sandwich was delicious.

After lunch, we did some more rehearsing, then moved onto hair and makeup. We all managed to squeeze in a bit of dinner during this hectic time. It took quite some time to get all of the hair and makeup done for each and every single girl. The makeup artists and hairstylists were the true superheroes. I have to give a huge thanks to Blair Santos for giving me a flawless makeup look.

Next up, the start of the preliminary competition. Miss World Canada 2018, Hanna Begovic, was our MC. It started off with the evening gown segment. Every single girl looked absolutely glamourous in their gown. We were all squealing about the dresses so much that we had to be shushed. After the evening gown segment, we rushed to the dressing room to change into our bikinis, which came from our amazing sponsor, Hot Water Swimwear.

After all that, we had the talent portion. This part was optional; however, I decided to sing Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift. All of the girls who performed did extremely well. The rest of the delegates were lined up at the back and cheering on the performers.

Once the show was finished, we had some time to take pictures and see friends and families if they came to watch. Then we packed up and headed back to the hotel. On the bus ride back, we all sang our hearts out to songs like Party in the USA, Timber, Lost in Japan, Old Town Road, Fergalicious, etc. What’s a bus ride without some music blasting?

Today determined the Top 20, so we’ll have to wait until the 14th to know who the Top 20 are! Anyways, it was a jam-packed day, so I’m gonna go sleep. Night night!

What’s up everyone! It’s Jesseca and I’m back with another blog! (My youtuber inspired intro).

Today, we were able to go to Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario. It’s a huge amusement park. There were tons of rides, but I went on the roller coasters the most. There were these amazing roller coasters called the Leviathan and the Behemoth. They were absolutely terrifying and thrilling. We were all screaming the entire time.

Our dinner was at the cutest little diner. It was very old-fashioned and retro. All of us were taking pictures around it. There were cars positioned right outside the entrance, which was the most common place for picture taking. The weather changed from light rain to super sunny, so I had my sunscreen ready to go. SPF 110 did it’s best, but I still think I tanned a tiny bit.

Near the end of the day, a bunch us started our own mini photoshoot. We were all taking pictures of each other, hyping each other up, and having a great time. We also were singing random songs to the background music drifting from one of the nearby shops. Photographer, Darren Lee, took tons of photos for us. He was absolutely amazing and every single shot came out nearly perfect.

It was such an amazing day. I got to bond with a bunch of the girls and go on a lot of thrilling rides. You’re never too old for amusement parks. I’ll talk to you guys later!

I’m back! So today was definetely the most fun I’ve had in a long time. For our day outing, we went to Canada’s Wonderland, which took us all by surprise late last night!

I must admit, I was a bit nervous to go because the weather report claimed that a thunderstorm was going to occur today (lies). However, the worst the weather got was a slight drizzle which only lasted five minutes at most. Thankfully, this resulted in extremely short line ups, which coincidentally, only lasted five minutes at most too even tho it can typically last for up to an hour.

My group and I rode all the rides and even went on repeats a ton of times with lots of time to spare as we were there for approximately TEN hours! As sad as I was to leave, I was also relieved because it was so hot and my feet were in pain from walking so much.

Hi everyone, it’s Myra!

So today was a very BUSY and STRESSFUL day, because many things we are judged on were done today.

To start off the day, we had a very filling breakfast of fruits, cereal, and yogurt. Next, other than waiting for an extremely long time to get our hair and makeup done, we had a photo shoot, a video shoot, AND an interview with four different judges!

After everyone was done with the shoots and interviews, we all got together for our very FIRST REHEARSALS with our amazing teacher, Shawn. He taught us many basic things like where we will be walking, how to do the steps, etc.

Finally, it was off to donner to finish off the day, and man I was starving by then.

All in all, today was a very eventful day and was a great start to the pageant week!

What’s up everyone?! It’s Jess.

Today was a BUSY day. Not gonna lie. However, it was pretty fun. We all woke up at around 7:15am ( a little early cause my internal clock was set to 4:15am). My roommates and I took some roommate selfies cause… why not?

“I woke up like this. I woke up like this. Flawless.” – Beyoncé

Afterwards, we got a yummy breakfast. I ate mostly fruit, because I go crazy for fruit. Especially berries. And yes, it is the same berry addiction that I mentioned in my first post. While we were eating breakfast, the fire alarm went off. I guess all of us girls were too hot 😉 There wasn’t anything wrong, so we were all safe.

We had a quick lunch. Then after lunch, I got my hair and makeup done. The rest was a blur between the interview, photoshoot, and video shoot. Shoutout to the chaperones and organizers who kept it all going! Then we all gathered for a rehearsal. Our teacher, Shawn, taught us some basic walks, poses, and our formations during the pageant. Sometimes he would randomly start dancing to the music and we were all for it.

Dinner was absolutely delicious. Marc, all-around cool guy, whipped up some pasta and meatballs for us, which we definitely needed. The only question I had was…how was he able to cook enough food for nearly 40 hungry teenage girls? We also got our opening number dresses and shoes, but you guys will have to wait for the final night before you see it!

Dinner Time!

I need to go wash the makeup off my face, but I’ll talk to you guys later! Byyyeeeeeee!

Hello everyone! It’s Jesseca!

Today, I arrived in Toronto. There were 4 British Columbia delegates on the same plane. 5 hours later, we landed safely at the Toronto Pearson International Airport. I got to meet some of the girls while waiting for the others to arrive at the airport. While we were taking the shuttle to our rooms, it was disconcerting, because the landscape was very flat in every direction I looked. Being from BC, I am used mountains and hills.

Showing my excitement for Toronto before boarding the plane

I got a chance to meet my roommates: Miss Teenage New Brunswick and Miss Teenage Eastern Ontario. Afterwards, we went to a PJ pizza party with all of the other delegates. Everyone mingled and it was interesting to meet girls from all over the country. All of the chaperones have been extremely kind and understanding and I can’t wait for what comes tomorrow! See you guys later!

It’s never too late to say hello. I’m Bonnie, representing my city Vancouver in the current Miss Teenage Canada competition. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to represent the city I was born and raised in. My parents immigrated from China before I was born. When I asked my mom why she picked Canada, she told me she chose Canada because of the job opportunities to better her life and to give her future children a better future. I’m glad I got to grow up in Canada as my life would be drastically different if I was raised in China. I aspire to become a humanitarian lawyer and to use my platform to help represent minorities in civil rights violation cases. In the meantime, I want to use my platform to raise awareness for social issues and to fundraise for those in need which include the Children’s Wish Foundation.

Hello everyone! It’s Jesseca and I’m back with another update!

On July 1st, I had the opportunity to celebrate Canada’s 152nd birthday at the Langley community celebration just outside of the Langley Event Centre. Everyone was in good spirits in a sea of red and white.

I had to opportunity to talk with various groups in the community. From BC Hydro to the RCMP to firefighters. They educated me about their respective fields. I learnt about where my drinking water came from and how much energy everyday appliances use up every year.

After taking some pictures with various people at booths, I had little kids running up to see the “princess”. They were the cutest little things ever. Nothing intrigues children more than shiny objects.

Throughout this event, I was able to be educated by various groups in the community, communicate and make connections with everyone, and be a role model for young children to look up to. A huge thanks to all of the volunteers and community leaders that made this celebration so amazing.

I hope you all enjoyed this update! See you next time!

Hi everyone! My name is Myra Wu and I am Miss Teenage Richmond, who will be representing the amazing province of British Columbia in the upcoming Miss Teenage Canada! My platform is mental health awareness as I feel that it is an issue that impacts, or has impacted everyone at some point in their lives. I enjoy playing volleyball and I have pursued this passion by playing for Air Attack Volleyball Club, as well as my high school volleyball team for three consecutive years. In addition, I also love to bake treats for myself, as well as others so thank god for my metabolism. However, working out and exercising plays a big role in my life too, as I’ve been playing sports for almost my entire life, from gymnastics to badminton, and from volleyball to kickboxing. Thank you for learning a bit about me and I look forward to meeting everyone in July!
